Common Names: Worm coral, maze brain, closed brain, bowl coral
Difficulty Level: Platygyra are a medium difficulty LPS coral with most importance placed on stable alkalinity.
Feeding: Not generally aggressive eaters but they will readily accept meat based foods placed in their mouths.
Lighting: Platygyra will do well on lighting conditions from low/medium up to medium/high although color is usually more intense under lower levels. Take care when moving them into higher light conditions by acclimating them slowly while monitoring for bleaching.
Water Flow: Medium flow is best though they will readily adapt to most conditions that keep flesh free of detritus and other debris.
Placement: Platygyra, like most brains, has lethal tentacles which it can extend to ward off competition from its area. Be sure to leave space around them.
